Breyers® Ice Cream Does It Contain Fish or Meat Ingredients

Recently there was an article in VegNews, which is an excellent magazine, where it was stated that some of the Ice Cream companies owned by Unilever which make Breyers® Ice Cream, Good Humur and Klondike were using a fish or a meat product to improve the texture of the ice cream. I went to the Breyers website and also check other website talking about Breyers and it did not find anything to indicate that this was happening. I then called Breyers Ice Cream and talked to a customer service representative who dealt with ingredient questions. I was talk that Breyers had started adding an ingredient to adjust the feel of their ice creams but was only from a plant source. I was also told the the monodicycerides that were in the Klondike products came from a plant source and not a meat source, which it is often derived from
